How to Obtain Your Federal Student Aid Data File

You must upload or send your federal student aid file to us before your appointment! We cannot help you without this file. Follow the steps below (or watch the video tutorial) to learn how to obtain your federal student aid data file.

1. Navigate to https://studentaid.gov/

2. Click Log In

3. Enter your email and password to log in.

4. Accept the disclosure to continue.

5. On the dashboard, click the View Details button

6. Click the Download My Aid Data button

7. Click Continue on the disclosure

8. Your file should now be in your downloads folder. The name of the file should look like “MyStudentData.txt”.

9. Using the form below, enter your personal information and click the “Upload File” button to attach the MyStudentData.txt file you just downloaded from studentaid.gov.

10. If you get stuck and need someone to guide you through the process, please click on the “I Need Help” button below. Clicking this button will allow you to book a screen sharing session where a representative will guide you through the steps to obtain your FSA data file.
